I volunteer for Family Promise because of the good work the organization is doing to help homeless families with children. Before moving to Bluffton this past year, I was active in the Brown Bag Ministry, a group within my church who feed the homeless. As part of that ministry I got to see the faces of the large homeless population in Washington, D.C. and I realized they are no different than I am. Some of the same circumstances that caused them to fall on hard times could just have easily have happened to me and my family. It is a blessing to serve others and I believe the service that Family Promise provides to Beaufort County is invaluable.
