Julia Poppell

Julia Poppell is the Program Manager with the Beaufort County Human Services Department since March 2025. Prior to joining the County, she was on the national team of Church World Service’s Children’s Service Department, providing program monitoring and complex case consultation to local sites providing services to unaccompanied immigrant youth. Her professional experience includes directing the refugee resettlement program in Charleston, managing cases of migrant victims of trafficking, and providing support to local organizations attempting to expand services to victims of trafficking. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Masters of Arts degree in Latin American Studies in 2021 and is bilingual in Spanish. Julia is excited to contribute to the mission of Family Promise of the Lowcountry to ensure that all children have a safe place to call home.
