Volunteers are the heart of our program. Family Promise succeeds at helping homeless children and their families because people like you share your time and talents! We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities ranging in skill level and time commitment. Contact us today and tell us how you would like to help.

Day Center Volunteers
Answer phones, administrative support, children activities, maintenance, organizing donations, tutoring or simply listening to our guest families.

Transportation Volunteers
Drive a mom to a job interview, doctor's appointment, etc. or sign up to be a van driver for special events and emergencies.

Professional Volunteers
Counseling, Graphic Design, Teaching Life Skills (i.e. budgeting, parenting, time management, etc.), Technology Projects, fund development, writing articles for newsletter and photography.

Move-out Volunteers
Organize our storage unit, help families move into their new home by collecting needed items, move furniture and household items, drive your pickup truck or trailer.

Sunday Volunteers
Spend time, offer support and encouragement and be there in case of emergency. Volunteers could arrive to a house full of playful children or it could be only a small family ready to enjoy an afternoon playing the back yard. Every kid loves when a new volunteer arrives, they know it means someone new to color with or who will read them a story. Volunteers are there in case of emergency and to offer encouragement and support.

Event Volunteers
Plan and organize events, decorate, collect donations, staff registration table, set up, stuff envelopes and distribute promotion materials.

Shelter Volunteers
Serve meals, prep meals, sleep overnight, tutor and/or activities for adults and children. Shelter volunteers provide support at the host congregation. If you would like to get your congregation involved contact Elliott Brown at familypromisebc@gmail.com or 843-815-4211.

Group Volunteers
Are you a member of a community group? Do you have a youth ministry or Girl Scout Troop looking for a project? Email us so we can brainstorm what might be most helpful.
